REVIEW: "Alluring Ties", Skye Turner

SYNOPSIS
Alluring Ties is a companion novella to the Bayou Stix series. It’s Book 2.5 Bayou Stix. In Alluring Turmoil, we were introduced to Lexi Sloane’s two best friends, Bradi and Erik. Alluring Ties will take you on a journey into their pasts and bring you to their present.

Bradi St. James is a force to be reckoned with. She’s strong, independent, and has something to prove. All of her life, she’s watched the world around her and is determined to have a different fate from what she’s grown up with. The path you’ve always believed to be the right path, may not be your destiny after all.

Erik Jenson is a kind man. A nurturer and the kind of friend everyone wants to have. Growing up surrounded by friends and family who support him, he’s a confident man. The choices he must make and the chances he must take as he lives and grows make him the strong, loving man he becomes.

Alluring Ties contains explicit sex, including some male/male, strong language and is not intended for anyone under the age of 18 or anyone who does not like M/M romance.

"Alluring Ties" starts off with the beginning of the friendship amongst the group of Bradi-Lexi-Erik-Micah.

These college "kids/adults" go through so much at such an early part of adulthood. They're battling some inner demons and skeletons in their closets.

I found myself getting very emotional and upset at parts of the story.  Bradi makes a decision that was so upsetting to me... I found myself really disliking her character ALOT at a certain point in the story.  Even though we know *why* she does what she does, it's still heartbreaking. I literally had to pause reading to compose myself (Skye is a powerful writer...)

Erik is a sweetheart.  He gets dealt a really bad hand by someone in the story; but things always end up looking brighter after a storm passes, right?

Lexi and Micah are extremely important roles in this story too, obviously...  I really like Lexi, and Micah is swoon-worthy (ok, I'll admit-- I think I use that word often in my reviews... But ya know, some guys in books are deserving of that title).  ;)

If you haven't read this series (Bayou Stix series), I highly recommend it.

Skye Turner writes great stories that captivate her audience.

**note: there are scenes with F/M and M/M romance in this story.
