Excerpt – Come Together

As the elevator ascended, David’s body seemed to grow bigger, his bearing predatory. I was his cornered prey—and he was about to strike. After a charged moment, he nodded at the doors. “Go on.” In my thickening haze of anticipation, I hadn’t even noticed our arrival at the penthouse. “We’re late for a very important date,” he said. “And what date is that?” I asked as we stepped off. “You, me and nothing else. Leave everything at the door.” He unlocked the apartment and held it open so I could pass through before him. As I did though, he snatched my elbow. “I said everything.” Over my shoulder, my gaze met his brown eyes, dark and lusty. He let the door slam to merge his body against my backside, gripping my shoulders roughly in his hands. “I’ve been crazy for you all day,” he rasped in my ear. “And although I love this nude dress, I want it off. Now.” He dragged the zipper down and dropped to his knees. I gasped when his lips touched the base of my spine. His hands skated up my exposed back and slid over my shoulders, releasing the gown so it slumped at my feet. They came around to my front, where he spread his fingers across my stomach. A moan vibrated against the small of my back, sending a shiver up to my shoulders. He stood and wrapped an arm around my chest, his hardness pressing against my spine. His other hand dropped to pull me open by my inner thigh and touch me through my underwear. I was panting, swaying when he released me suddenly. “Jesus,” he muttered. “I can’t control myself with you.” Through oversized windows, the city glow lent the only light to the room as he circled in front of me. I put my hand in his and stepped out of the dress, following as he led me down the stairs into the sunken living room. “Keep those on,” he instructed, motioning to my new black stilettos. He removed his blazer and lit the fireplace as my body, alive with desire, wavered unsteadily in the four-inch heels. He emptied his pockets onto a side table and removed his Rolex. He undid his bowtie slowly with his hooded eyes fixed on me. His limbs, strong and brawny, moved fluidly as he shed clothing. I wanted to learn the contours of his body with my eyes, my fingers, my tongue. And when he looked at me that way, like it was the first time, I could barely help from melting at his feet.

Excerpt 1

Unedited Excerpt – Subject to change – Copyright 2016 Clarissa Wild

The figure behind the curtain moves his hand and the music starts to play. I close my eyes and take a breath, eliminating my thoughts, transporting myself to another world. In this moment I am no longer Alexis, no longer that girl with all her responsibilities and history. I am simply a woman. A dancer. A seductress.

As the lights dim, my arms start to move to the rhythm of the music. I undress myself slowly, sensually, putting emphasis on every inch of my skin as if it’s precious. I lick my lips and twirl around the chair, showing off my bare skin as my dress falls to the floor and all that’s left is a see-through thong and bra.

My body moves on its own as I dance, almost possessed. Music is the food that feeds my soul and takes the pain away. But when I open my eyes and see him standing there, I can’t help but look. Even through the curtain, which isn’t as thick as I thought it was, I can see his complete silhouette. A big mass of muscles. Bigger than any man I’ve ever laid eyes on. It takes my breath away quite literally.

And all of those muscles are bundled at one spot.

Right in front of his crotch.

I suck in a breath and sway my hips to the music, watching his hands move up and down, front and back. My nipples tighten from the sight as I watch him jerk himself off right in front of me. I shouldn’t be aroused, this isn’t about me, but my body knows what it likes, and it doesn’t care. I wonder if he knows that I can see him … if he even cares.

I blink and turn around the chair again, but at the second turn my eyes can’t help themselves anymore. I gorge myself on his body, watching him speed up, pumping himself. The harder he goes, the faster I move. It’s like we’re both grounded in the moment, joined by movement alone. The music booms through the speakers, but the silence between us is chilling.

Sexy, almost, in a wicked way.

Licking my lips, I take off my bra and jiggle my tits as I twirl around the chair and do my dance. He turns sideways slowly, exposing the size of his length, and oh boy … it just about makes my mouth water, that’s how huge he is.

I love watching him, even though I shouldn’t be. I remember the warning all too well, but what harm could it do when I can tell he’s enjoying it? And the funny thing is, is that I’m actually enjoying it too. It’s not often that I can please a man without touching him … and that he looks that delicious, even when hiding behind a curtain. God, I can only imagine what he might look like up front.

There’s no harm in fantasizing, right? Besides, it’s not like I’ll see him again … Plus, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do to get off, and I’ll sure as hell get myself off when I’m done with this job.

Anxious to see where this is going, I speed up the pace and grind on the chair like a class-act, which gets him all pumped up. I watch him intently from behind my lashes, making sure it’s not too obvious. Pants and soft groans are audible underneath the tone of the music, creating goosebumps across my body.

He sounds like a goddamn beast.

As the music comes to an end, and I do my final move, he releases himself, and the silence returns.

I wait, heavily breathing, sweat dripping down my body, my pussy pounding between my legs. Nothing happens.

But it should.

He never said I could stop.

Excerpt 2

Unedited Excerpt – Subject to change – Copyright 2016 Clarissa Wild

“Tell me the truth,” I say, my fingers digging into her skin. “Tell me I’ve treated you badly. Tell me how I’m an animal. A monster. Someone who everyone fears. Who deserves no love. Prove me I’m right.”

She hesitates and then stops fighting me. “No.”

“Don’t tell me a lie, Lexi. I don’t wanna hear it. You don’t have to seduce me anymore. I’m done playing games.”

“I’m not …”

Her breathing captures me so much, I bring one hand to her throat. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s the fear that I saw, driving me to insanity, wanting to prove to myself once and for all that I’m truly that monster I see in the mirror. Or maybe I’m wrong, and I want to remember what it was like to touch her for the very first time … that first encounter, where neither of us knew who the other really was.

“Do you hate me?” I whisper in her ear, my tongue briefly darting out to lick her earlobe.

Even when she fears me and wishes to leave, I still want to have her more than anything else in the world.

“How can I not?” she says, swallowing.

“Exactly … how can you not,” I growl. “But you’ll never hate me more than I already do. But you know what’ll also never change? How much I fucking want you. How much I fucking need you. I’ve never wanted a girl as much as I want you.”

Her pulse races under my fingertip, her throat muscles clenching as I speak into her ear.

“I can’t let you go, Lexi. You’re my obsession. I can’t sleep. I can’t think. Can’t eat. Can’t stop wanting your body … seeing your eyes light up … that foxy smile. I want it all.”

A tiny gasp escapes her mouth as my hand snakes its way around her naked belly and pulls her closer to my body. “I hate that too … just like you. You’re so different. So unlike anything I expected. I like it.”

I gently press a kiss to her neck, and it makes her clench the hand that’s around her throat. But she doesn’t attempt to take it off. Instead, she only presses harder.

“I shouldn’t be here,” she whispers, her eyes closing. “I shouldn’t have come. Shouldn’t have stayed.”

“But you did … Even when half of the time, the door isn’t locked.” I grin against her skin.

“I can’t …” She moans when I bite into her shoulder, leaving a mark.

“Stay with me, Lexi. Don’t be afraid of me. Or you’ll prove I’m the monster you said I wasn’t.”

*Cover Reveal* Anie Michaels' "Instead of You"

Title: Instead of You

Author: Anie Michaels

Genre: New Adult/ Contemporary Romance

Release Date: TBD

Blurb:

Two brothers.

Cory was my best friend, the boy who I’d resolved to spend my entire life with.  I’d grown to love him, gotten used to the idea of our life together, even if it wasn’t the all-encompassing, soul-crushing, heart-shattering romance it appeared to be.

Hayes was the boy who seemed entirely out of reach.  Untouchable.  He stole my first kiss, a secret I’d hidden away in the recesses of my heart, protecting the memory and hoping it would be enough to last me a lifetime.  When he became my history teacher, it was impossible to hide from him any longer.

There was no way to anticipate just how important both Wallace brothers would become to me, how deeply they would change my life, or how the loss of one would propel me into the arms of the other.

EXCERPT

After spending two hours outdoors getting my headshots taken by Finn, I slide into the backseat of the Uber with Finn, grateful to be back inside. He puts an arm around my shoulders and draws me to him. “Cold?”

I should pull away. Once I have it, though, his warmth is impossible to reject and feels as necessary as breathing. “A little.”

He squeezes me closer. Moves his hand up and down my bicep. “You’re shivering.”

The driver looks at us in the rearview mirror. “You guys are a cute couple.”

“Thanks,” I say.

Finn arches an eyebrow, pleased—because she thinks we’re together, or because I didn’t correct her? I don’t even want to correct her. I’ve missed the look she’s giving us, the one a woman makes when she’s more envious than jealous. I get it all the time with Nathan. That feeling, coupled with the heater blasting from the front seat, leaves me slightly woozy.

We’re just like actors in a movie, I tell myself. This isn’t real. It doesn’t count. After a few minutes, the urgency to get warm lessens, and the door opens to another less pressing, but still basic need. Because that’s how my arousal feels—essential. The more it’s ignored, the fiercer it grows. I snuggle into his side. All it takes is his hand on my upper thigh to invite an assault of graphic fantasies. Finn shoving me down on the backseat because he can’t control himself anymore. Thrusting his fingers under the hem of my dress to find me ready for him. The lower half of my body aches with sudden demands.

“Some of those photos we just took were for me,” he whispers in my ear. He couldn’t have chosen a worse moment to tease me. My legs are jelly-like. “Does that make you mad?”

I check to see if the driver is paying attention. She must know I’m married. How can something so vital and concrete in my life be hidden? “What if I say yes?” I ask.

“I’ll delete them. If you’re sure it doesn’t . . . turn you on.”

I try not to pant. “Why would it?”

“Imagining me looking at them later.”

I turn my head. Our mouths are a breath apart. One more inch, and they’ll touch. Again. Those lips are the color of sunburnt rock but whisper soft. We’ve done it once. Would one more kiss hurt? I can’t stop the image of him looking at me, my exposed, white throat on his computer, his cock in a firm fist. It should disgust me. It makes my panties damp instead.

“No response necessary,” he says as the car pulls up to the curb. “I can read it on your face.”
